On 28th September 2018, The late Jackson Muningandu Kaujeua will have Storch Street be renamed after him in the capital. The City Council approved this recommendation during its monthly Council meeting here in the capital. Kaujeua, who died on 27 May 2010, was a Namibian musician, composer and singer, and a veteran of the Namibian struggle for independence.

The renaming follows a request by the Namibia Society of Composers and Authors of Music (NASCAM) chief executive officer, Mr. John Max on 14 April 2014 for the City of Windhoek (CoW) to re-name Johnson Street in Eros, in which the NASCAM offices are situated, in honour of Kaujeua. The CoW's Street and Place Naming/Renaming Committee supported this request, but after thorough consideration of the proposal to rename the specific street suggested by NASCAM, the committee advocates the retaining of the thematic classification of street names in the city.

It is with this mind that the committee recommends the remaining of a street in hour of the late Kaujeua in the area where other composers and significant characters in artistry are given recognition, read the official Council document discussed during that Council meeting. As it was then recommended that the offices of the Mayor and Chief Executive Officer inform the family of the late Kaujeua and NASCAM of the decision to make the necessary arrangements in the event of a street-renaming ceremony. The CoW in conjuction with NASCAM is therefore would like to inform the public about the main ceremony that will take place at the municipal premises on the 28th September 2018, which will then be followed by street name unveiling at respective streets across the city.
